Split Rock Studios collaborated with the Grout Museum District to design and fabricate the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum. The museum, named for five brothers who died on the same naval ship during WWII, fills two floors with exhibits spanning the Civil War to the Gulf War. The exhibits focus on the personal stories of Iowa’s veterans.
Immersive and iconic environments mark each conflict. Visitors explore a WWI trench, while the sounds of battle ring overhead. A Huey helicopter sets the stage for a film about the Vietnam War. The sound of rain drums on a walk-in tent from the Spanish-American War. Each area features audio-visual exhibits and hands-on activities designed to engage and educate visitors.
