Weedon Island Cultural & Natural History Center

Split Rock Studios was selected to produce the exhibits, designed by Hilferty & Associates, for the new Weedon Island Preserve Center. The exhibits are divided into four distinct galleries that highlight the history, ecology and archeology of the island. Large landforms, immersive environments, scale models, interpretive graphics, hands-on activities, AV programs and artifacts are combined to create a colorful and engaging experience for visitors of all ages. The exhibits won an NAI Best Interpretive Media Award for Interior Exhibits in 2008.

Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center

Working with designers Lyons/Zaremba, Split Rock built dynamic and interactive exhibits for the Eco-Discovery Center, the official visitor center of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.  The center celebrates both the terrestrial and rich underwater habitats of one of the most diverse ecosystems in North America.

The exhibit blends immersive environments with state-of-the-art technology. The centerpiece of the exhibit is a large diorama with sculpted hardwood hammock trees.  Elsewhere, large photomurals give visitors the impression of swimming through sunlit coral reefs.

Visitors can use touch screen computer displays throughout the exhibit to learn about conservation efforts affecting the Florida Keys.
