Exhibits entitled Soldiering and Serving: A Day in the Life of the Lewis and Clark Expedition take visitors along on the trail as the Corps of Discovery camps, hunts, and explores the Missouri River Valley. Focusing on what happened to the expedition near Sioux City, the center includes an area devoted to Sergeant Floyd, the only member of the expedition to die along the way.
Visitors also discover the expedition as never seen before, depicted in historically accurate murals that surround each exhibit space. A wealth of interactive experiences allow visitors to play the role of different expedition members, from captains and sergeants to privates and even Indians who met the Corps of Discovery along the trail.
