Split Rock Studios redesigned the Bird Hall Gallery at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. Our mission was to develop a new look for the space and new casework while not disturbing the major dioramas.
We created two large artifact cases to hold the museum’s collection of over 400 bird mounts, new pedestal cases for the egg collection, new back-lit interpretive graphic panels and a flight interactive. We also created a life-size realistic sculpture of an American Condor to replace a fragile taxidermy specimen.
