Exhibit Size: 3,500
square feet
Services Performed: Concept Development, Design, Fabrication, Dioramas,
Mural Painting, and Installation
In 2004 and 2005, Split Rock Studios worked closely
with the California Department of Parks & Recreation to replace their
decades-old exhibits with beautiful interactive exhibits highlighting
the park?s cultural history, diverse ecosystems, and their extensive fossil
collection.
Upon entering the building, a life-sized model of a
huge ancient vulture catches the eye and imagination of visitors. An animated
video depicts the geologic forces that shaped the Anza-Borrego landscape
and bring to life the creatures that once lived there. Numerous dioramas,
interpretive graphics and interactives give visitors the tools they need
to explore the park on their own.
